Plus a regular band of parent volunteers who help us to make our events
successful. New Participants always welcome.

The Friends meet approximately once a month in term time. This term, we are going to alternate our meetings between evening meetings in the village hall, and after school meetings in the school library, giving more parents the opportunity to have an input.

The meetings last around an hour, less if you need to dash off. Although an informal group, we try to be organised, so there is an elected Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer. Parents are welcome to attend meetings either on an ad hoc or regular basis.

Your time is as valuable to the Friends as your money. Without people giving up even a small amount of time to help at an event we could not generate the money that helps to make the school as vibrant as we can for our children. So if popping along to the Friends meeting is “not your thing” or babysitting is an issue, the events are always in need of helpers when you can spare the time.

About the Friends

We are fortunate at our school to have a Parent, Teacher and Friends Association that is and has been an integral part of the school community for a number of years. In its time the Friends have raised thousands of pounds, which has been spent on equipment and resources to enhance our children’s education experience and the school’s facilities.

The Friends of Adisham School is about much more than simply fundraising.  The Friends exists to provide closer links between home and school and it is an excellent way to bring staff, parents and friends together socially in support of the school, working towards a common goal.  It is fun too - just ask any of the Committee members or Friends helpers.  Obviously, as in any organisation, we have experienced some challenges but with the continued support of parents and staff, the Friends have always succeeded in their efforts.

Did you know that all parents are automatically members of the Friends?  You don’t have to be specially asked, or an extrovert, or love endless committee meetings.  You can dip in and out of what goes on.

Is it cliquey?  We really hope it isn’t seen that way and the more parents that join in the less chance there is that could ever happen.
